Primul porumb al sezonului are ceva magic — acel miros dulceag cand dezbraci foile, culoarea aurie dupa fierbere si gustul acela pe care nu il gasesti decat vara, exact cand trebuie! Este inecput de iulie  si am dat peste primul porumb al sezonului — sase bucati perfecte, dulci si “in lapte”, pe care nu am putut sa le las acolo. Pentru ca era foarte cald si nu aveam chef de stat la aragaz, am ales varianta rapida — multicookerul Tefal One Pot, 15 minute sub presiune si porumbul era gata, fierbinte si parfumat. Iar sarea roz de la CIO presarata deasupra? Micul detaliu care transforma un preparat simplu intr-unul de tinut minte! Porumb fiert, nu e o reteta complicata — e un gest simplu de a savura vara asa cum trebuie.

INGREDIENTE (pentru 3 portii)

  • 6 bucati porumb proaspat
  • apa cat sa acopere porumbul
  • sare roz CIO pentru servit

Dezbraci porumbul de foi si matase cu grija — nu arunca foile! Acestea vor juca un rol important in gatire. Acoperi fundul oalei cu un strat de foi de porumb — acest truc simplu pastreaza aroma naturala a porumbului si ii da o nota usor dulce si parfumata in timpul gatirii.

Asezi porumbii deasupra foilor, ii acoperi cu restul de foi si torni apa pana cand porumbul este bine acoperit. Inchizi capacul si selectezi programul de gatire sub presiune pentru 15 minute.

La finalul timpului, depresurizeaza oala si scoate porumbul — auriu, zemos si parfumat. Presara generos cu sare roz CIO si servesti imediat, cat este inca fierbinte!

Daca nu ai multicooker, poti fierbe porumbul clasic in oala cu apa — ajusteaza doar timpul la 30-40 de minute la foc mediu.

Boiled Corn

The first corn of the season has something magical about it — that sweet smell when you peel back the leaves, the golden colour after cooking and that taste you can only find in summer, exactly when you need it! It is the beginning of July and I came across the first corn of the season — six perfect, sweet and milky cobs that I simply could not leave behind. Because it was very hot and I had no desire to stand over the stove, I chose the quick option — the Tefal One Pot multicooker, 15 minutes under pressure and the corn was ready, hot and fragrant. And the CIO pink salt scattered on top? The little detail that transforms a simple dish into one worth remembering! It is not a complicated recipe — it is a simple gesture of enjoying summer exactly as it should be enjoyed.

INGREDIENTS (for 3 servings)

  • 6 fresh corn cobs
  • water to cover the corn
  • CIO pink salt for serving

Peel the corn of its leaves and silk carefully — do not throw away the leaves! They will play an important role in the cooking. Cover the bottom of the pot with a layer of corn leaves — this simple trick preserves the natural aroma of the corn and gives it a slightly sweet and fragrant note during cooking.

Place the corn cobs on top of the leaves, cover with the remaining leaves and pour in water until the corn is well covered. Close the lid and select the pressure cooking programme for 15 minutes.

At the end of the time, release the pressure and remove the corn — golden, juicy and fragrant. Scatter generously with CIO pink salt and serve immediately, while still piping hot!

If you do not have a multicooker, you can boil the corn the classic way in a pot of water — just adjust the time to 30-40 minutes over medium heat.
