Fasole batuta cu ceapa caramelizata

Traditionala, usor de pregatit, servita ca aperitiv sau ca fel principal, fasolea batuta este un fel foarte indragit din bucataria romaneasca.

Reteta clasica presupune hidratarea fasolei in 2-3 ape si apoi fierberea ei. Un procedeu destul de complex si cu un timp destul de mare de asteptare. Eu am ales varianta comoda, mai exact fasolea conservata.

INGREDIENTE / INGREDIENTS

(pentru 4 portii / for 4 servings)

  • 600 grame fasole alba conservata / 600 grams canned beans
  • 2 catei de usturoi / 2 garlic cloves
  • 5 linguri ulei / 5 tablespoons oil
  • 1 ceapa alba / 1 white onion
  • 1 ceapa rosie / 1 red onion
  • 3 linguri ulei / 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 lingura pasta de ardei picanta / 1 tablespoon spicy pepper sauce
  • Sare / Salt

Intr-un bol punem fasolea si cateii de usturoi si mixam cu ajutorul unui blender pana obtinem o pasta fina. In acest moment incepem sa adaugam cate o lingura de ulei si si mixam in continuare pana cand incorporam tot uleiul. Adaugam sare doar daca mai este necesar.

Intr-o tigaie incingem 3 linguri de ulei si adaugam cele 2 cepe taiate felii subtiri. Presaram cu sare si prajim ceapa la foc mic, amestecand frecvent. Cand ceapa este caramelizata adaugam pasta de ardei picanta si mai lasam pe foc timp de 5 minute.

Servim fasolea batuta cu ceapa caramelizata, cu muraturi si paine de casa.

Creamy beans with caramelized onion

Traditional, easy to prepare, served as an appetizer or as a main course, creamy beans are a very popular dish in Romanian cuisine.

The classic recipe involves hydrating the beans in 2-3 waters and then boiling them. A rather complex procedure with a long waiting time. I chose the convenient option, more precisely the preserved beans.

In a bowl put the beans and garlic cloves cut into slices and mix with a blender until you get a fine paste. At this point start to add a tablespoon of oil and continue mixing until all the oil is incorporated. Add salt only if necessary.

In a pan heat 3 tablespoons of oil and add the 2 onions cut into thin slices. Sprinkle with salt and fry the onion over low heat, stirring frequently. When the onion is caramelized, add the hot pepper paste and leave it on the fire for another 5 minutes.

Serve the creamy beans with caramelized onions, pickles and homemade bread.
