Fursecuri crinkle cu portocala

on

Adaugam untul taiat cubulete si mixam pana obtinem o crema omogena.

Orange Crinkle Cookies

There are cookies that look like little snow-covered miracles — white on the outside, soft and fragrant on the inside, with a delicate icing sugar crust that cracks beautifully during baking and creates that rustic, irresistible appearance. Orange crinkle cookies are exactly those — tender, aromatic, with a fresh and fragrant note of orange that makes them impossible to resist. They are the kind of cookies you make once and then the whole family asks you to repeat them. The secret of these cookies lies in the orange zest finely ground with the sugar — a simple trick that releases the essential oils and transforms the whole mixture into a fragrant and aromatic dough, with a natural and deep orange intensity. We chose CIO orange zest — a quality ingredient that makes all the difference and gives the cookies that authentic, intense and irresistible aroma. Combined with butter, egg and vanilla, you get a soft, pleasant dough that is easy to work with after it has rested in the fridge. And the best part? They are surprisingly simple to make — the dough comes together quickly, rests for 30 minutes in the fridge and is then rolled into balls generously coated in icing sugar. In the oven, the sugar cracks beautifully and creates that characteristic surface, white and slightly crispy, hiding a soft and fluffy interior. Perfect for any occasion — from an afternoon tea to a gift box for the holidays! 🍊✨

INGREDIENTS (for 20 pieces)

For the dough:

  • 100 grams sugar
  • juice of ½ orange
  • 100 grams unsalted butter, diced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
  • 285 grams plain white flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 60 grams icing sugar plus extra for dusting

We start by grinding the sugar in a blender or food processor, then add the CIO orange zest and mix until we get a fine and extremely fragrant mixture. The CIO orange zest releases its essential oils into the sugar and perfumes the entire mixture — and the quality of the ingredient is felt from the very first moment.

Add the diced butter and mix until you get a smooth, uniform cream. Add the egg, orange juice and vanilla extract and continue mixing until everything combines beautifully. Add the flour and baking powder and mix quickly, just enough to incorporate the ingredients — do not overmix, otherwise the cookies will turn out hard.

Transfer the dough to a bowl, cover with cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes. This chilling step is important — the dough becomes firmer and easier to shape into balls.

Preheat the oven to 200°C and line two baking trays with baking paper. Place the icing sugar in a small bowl. Remove the dough from the fridge and shape into balls of approximately 30 grams each. Roll each ball generously in the icing sugar, coating it completely on all sides, and place on the prepared tray, leaving approximately 5 cm between them.

Bake at 200°C for 15-18 minutes, until the cookies spread slightly, the sugar cracks beautifully on the surface and the edges begin to turn lightly golden. While still warm, dust again with icing sugar for a smooth, snow-white appearance. Leave to cool completely before serving — if you can wait! 😄

Serve at room temperature, alongside a cup of tea or coffee. Perfect as a dessert, a gift or simply for those moments when you want something sweet, fragrant and truly good! 🍊✨
