Buttered Baked Corn

Forget grilled corn — this recipe beats it! Do you know the oven bag trick? Corn generously coated in room temperature butter, sealed in a bag and baked — the steam that forms inside makes it incredibly juicy, tender and fragrant with melted butter. The result is corn that does not dry out, does not burn and does not lose a single drop of its natural sweetness. Once you try this version, you will never want it any other way! It is the simplest summer dish — two ingredients, zero complicated techniques and a result that makes everyone ask for another one. Scattered with coarse salt at the end and eaten immediately, piping hot — simply unforgettable!

INGREDIENTS (for 4 servings)

  • 4 fresh corn cobs
  • 50 grams butter at room temperature
  • coarse salt for serving

Peel the corn carefully, removing all the leaves and silk. Generously coat each cob with room temperature butter — soft butter spreads easily and evenly over the entire surface, covering every kernel.

Place the buttered cobs in an oven bag. Seal the bag well and pierce it here and there with a toothpick — the small holes will allow the steam to circulate without bursting the bag. Place the bag in a baking tray and put in the oven preheated to 180°C for 40 minutes.

Once the 40 minutes are up, remove the tray from the oven. Open the bag very carefully — the steam inside is extremely hot! Scatter coarse salt on top and serve immediately — hot, juicy and fragrant with melted butter!
