Brasovul are acel farmec aparte care te cucereste la fiecare vizita, insa dincolo de fatadele medievale si mirosul de kurtos kalacs, orasul ascunde locuri care te poarta instantaneu pe alte continente. Astazi, pe „Inspiratie la fix”, va povestesc despre o experienta care m-a dus cu gandul la forfota din Hanoi, chiar daca ma aflam la doar cativa pasi de Piata Sfatului: Little Hanoi Brasov – Gustul Vietnamului, intre munti si legende.
O poarta deschisa catre Orient. Situat pe strada Apollonia Hircher, la numarul 1, Little Hanoi nu este doar un restaurant, ci o declaratie de dragoste pentru cultura vietnameza. Inca de la intrare, atmosfera te imbratiseaza cu un mix de eleganta moderna si detalii traditionale care te fac sa uiti de agitatia urbana de afara. Este acel gen de loc unde timpul pare sa se dilueze in arome de lemongrass si anason stelat.
Am testat un meniu aproape complet, de la aperitive crocante pana la feluri principale pline de umami, si pot sa va spun un singur lucru: pregatiti-va papilele gustative pentru un spectacol total, chiar in centrul orasului de la poalele Tampei.
Aperitive care dau dependenta: Nem, Banh Bao si Gyoza.
Aventura culinara a inceput cu o selectie de gustari care ne-au cucerit instantaneu. Nem-ul vietnamez, acele pachetele de primavara crocante, sunt exact cum trebuie: aurii, cu o textura perfecta si o umplutura savuroasa care se topeste in gura.
Nu am putut rezista nici pachetelelor Banh Bao si galustelor Gyoza. Daca Banh Bao te surprinde cu aluatul fin si aerat, Gyoza vine cu acea crusta subtire si interior suculent, fiind companionul ideal pentru un sos usor picant. Iar pentru iubitorii de fructe de mare, crevetii Tom Chien sunt un „must-try”. Sunt inveliti intr-o crusta crocanta care ascunde un miez fraged de crevete proaspat, oferind acea senzatie de „crunch” satisfacatoare la fiecare imbucatura.
Feluri principale: Explozie de arome si culori.
Cand a venit vorba de felul principal, masa s-a transformat intr-o paleta de culori. Am inceput cu Bun Xao Ga, un preparat generos cu taitei de orez prajiti si pui. Este definitia comfort food-ului asiatic: arome echilibrate, pui fraged si legume crocante, toate trase la wok cu precizie.
Pentru fanii clasicilor, Pad Thai-ul cu vita este o alegere de nota zece. Taiteii de orez sunt imbracati intr-un sos echilibrat intre dulce, acrisor si putin picant, iar carnea de vita, taiata fin, aduce o bogatie de gust care te face sa mai ceri o portie.
Daca preferati orezul, Com Rang Bo (orezul prajit cu vita) este o lectie de simplitate executata perfect. Fiecare bob de orez este separat si bine rumenit, captand toata aroma ingredientelor.
Insa surpriza serii a fost puiul caramel servit cu orez jasmine. Sosul dens, dulce-lipicios si aromat, imbraca bucatile de pui intr-o glazura divina, care alaturi de orezul jasmine parfumat creeaza o combinatie absolut irezistibila.
Pentru finalul glorios al acestui festin, am pastrat ce este mai bun: Sticky Rice cu mango. Este un desert absolut senzational, care reuseste sa stearga orice urma de oboseala dupa o zi de colindat prin Brasov. Imagineaza-ti un orez lipicios si cremos, infuzat cu lapte de cocos bogat, servit alaturi de felii de mango proaspat, atat de coapte si dulci incat parca se topesc sub priviri. Textura densa a orezului in combinatie cu prospetimea fructului exotic creeaza un echilibru divin, oferind acea dulceata naturala si reconfortanta care iti ramane intiparita in memorie mult timp dupa ce ai plecat. Este, fara doar si poate, imbratisarea calda a Vietnamului intr-un bol, un desert care nu doar incheie masa, ci o transforma intr-o amintire de neuitat.
Si pentru ca nicio experienta asiatica nu este completa fara o bautura pe masura, am cautat pe lista celebra cafea vietnameza cu lapte condensat, care ar fi facut echipa perfecta cu orezul lipicios. Desi de data aceasta nu a fost disponibila pentru a ne indulci si mai mult vizita, am ales un espresso simplu si intens, care a echilibrat excelent notele exotice ale desertului.
Little Hanoi Brasov reuseste sa transforme o simpla masa intr-o experienta autentica. Fiecare preparat povesteste despre atentia la detalii si pasiunea pentru ingrediente proaspete. Daca sunteti prin zona, nu ratati ocazia de a explora aceste gusturi exotice care va vor face sa calatoriti cu gandul pana pe strazile din Vietnam.

Brașov has that special charm that captivates you with every visit, but beyond the medieval facades and the smell of kürtőskalács, the city hides places that instantly transport you to other continents. Today, on „Inspirație la fix,” I’m telling you about an experience that took my mind to the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, even though I was just a few steps from Council Square: Little Hanoi Brașov – The Taste of Vietnam, between mountains and legends.
An Open Door to the Orient
Located on Apollonia Hircher Street, number 1, Little Hanoi is not just a restaurant, but a declaration of love for Vietnamese culture. From the entrance, the atmosphere embraces you with a mix of modern elegance and traditional details that make you forget about the urban hustle outside. It’s the kind of place where time seems to dissolve in aromas of lemongrass and star anise.
I tested an almost complete menu, from crispy appetizers to main courses full of umami, and I can tell you one thing: prepare your taste buds for a total spectacle, right in the center of the city at the foot of Tâmpa Mountain.
Addictive Appetizers: Nem, Banh Bao, and Gyoza
The culinary adventure began with a selection of treats that instantly won us over. The Vietnamese nem, those crispy spring rolls, are exactly as they should be: golden, with a perfect texture and a savory filling that melts in your mouth.
We couldn’t resist the Banh Bao buns and Gyoza dumplings either. While Banh Bao surprises you with its fine and airy dough, Gyoza comes with that thin crust and succulent interior, being the ideal companion for a slightly spicy sauce. And for seafood lovers, the Tom Chien shrimp are a must-try. They’re wrapped in a crispy crust that hides a tender core of fresh shrimp, offering that satisfying „crunch” sensation with every bite.
Main Courses: An Explosion of Flavors and Colors
When it came to the main course, the table transformed into a palette of colors. We started with Bun Xao Ga, a generous dish with stir-fried rice noodles and chicken. It’s the definition of Asian comfort food: balanced flavors, tender chicken, and crispy vegetables, all tossed in the wok with precision.
For fans of the classics, the Pad Thai with beef is a perfect ten choice. The rice noodles are dressed in a sauce balanced between sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy, and the thinly sliced beef brings a richness of flavor that makes you want another portion.
If you prefer rice, Com Rang Bo (fried rice with beef) is a lesson in simplicity executed perfectly. Each grain of rice is separate and well browned, capturing all the aroma of the ingredients.
But the surprise of the evening was the caramel chicken served with jasmine rice. The thick, sweet-sticky, and aromatic sauce coats the chicken pieces in a divine glaze, which alongside the fragrant jasmine rice creates an absolutely irresistible combination.
For the glorious finale of this feast, we saved the best: Sticky Rice with mango. It’s an absolutely sensational dessert that manages to erase any trace of fatigue after a day of wandering through Brașov. Imagine sticky and creamy rice, infused with rich coconut milk, served alongside slices of fresh mango, so ripe and sweet that they seem to melt under your gaze. The dense texture of the rice combined with the freshness of the exotic fruit creates a divine balance, offering that natural and comforting sweetness that stays etched in your memory long after you’ve left. It is, without a doubt, Vietnam’s warm embrace in a bowl, a dessert that doesn’t just end the meal, but transforms it into an unforgettable memory.
And since no Asian experience is complete without a proper drink, we looked for the famous Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk on the menu, which would have been the perfect pairing with the sticky rice. Although it wasn’t available this time to sweeten our visit even more, we chose a simple and intense espresso, which excellently balanced the exotic notes of the dessert.
Little Hanoi Brașov manages to transform a simple meal into an authentic experience. Each dish tells a story of attention to detail and passion for fresh ingredients.
