INGREDIENTE (pentru 4 portii)
- 800 grame pulpe de pui dezosate
- 4 catei de usturoi
- 1/2 lingurita piper
- 1/2 lingurita fulgi de chilli
- 1 lingurita oregano
- 1 lingurita boia dulce
- 150 grame iaurt grecesc
- Sare
Secretul acestei retete consta in marinarea carnii de pui. Asadar este bine ca aceasta marinare sa se faca la rece pentru un interval de timp de 8 – 12 ore, cel mai potrivit de pe o zi pe alta.
Punem carnea de pui intr-un bol si presaram condimentele: sarea, piperul, oregano, fulgi de chilli, boia dulce si usturoiul zdrobit. Adaugam deasupra si iaurtul grecesc si amestecam foarte bine. Acoperim bolul cu o folie sau un capac si lasam la marinat, la frigider.
A doua zi pregatim o tava termorezistenta mai inalta si ingusta, similare cu cele de chec. Umezim o foaie de copt si o strangem intre palme, apoi o desfacem usor fara sa o rupem si o aranjam in forma. Asezam deasupra bucatile de pui si le impachetam in hartia de copt.
Introducem tava in cuptorul preincalzit la 180 grade Celsius pentru 40 de minute. Apoi scoatem tava din cuptor si desfacem cu grija hartia de copt, rasturnand puiul in tava. Il introducem din nou in cuptor pentru 15 – 20 de minute, cu functia grill pornita pana cand este frumos rumenit.
Rasturnam carnea pe un fund de lemn si o taiem in felii subtiri.
Servim gyros-ul de pui alaturi de cartofi prajiti, lipii calde, sos de iaurt cu usturoi si legume: rosii, ceapa, castraveti murati, salata de varza.

- 800 grams boneless chicken thighs
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 150 grams Greek yogurt
- Salt
The secret of this recipe lies in marinating the chicken. Therefore, it is good that this marinating is done in the cold for a time interval of 8 – 12 hours, the most suitable from one day to another.
Put the chicken meat in a bowl and sprinkle the spices: salt, pepper, oregano, chili flakes, paprika and crushed garlic. Add the Greek yogurt on top and mix very well. Cover the bowl with a foil or a lid and leave to marinate in the refrigerator.
The next day, prepare a taller and narrower heat-resistant tray, similar to the cake ones. Moisten a baking sheet and squeeze it between your palms, then unfold it gently without breaking it and arrange it in shape. Place the chicken pieces on top and wrap them in baking paper.
Place the tray in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes. Then take the tray out of the oven and carefully unfold the baking paper, turning the chicken over in the tray. Put it back in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes, with the grill function turned on, until it is nicely browned.
Turn the meat over on a wooden bottom and cut it into thin slices.
Serve the chicken gyros with fried potatoes, hot pita bread, yogurt sauce with garlic and vegetables: tomatoes, onions, pickled cucumbers, cabbage salad.
