  • 1 morcov / 1 carrot
  • 1 ceapa alba / 1 white onion
  • 1 ceapa rosie / 1 red onion
  • 6 catei de usturoi / 6 garlic cloves
  • 2 tulpini apio / 2 celery stalks
  • 250 grame linte rosie / 250 grams red lentil
  • 1 lingurita chimen / 1 teaspoon caraway
  • 1 lingurita chimbru / 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 foaie dafin / 1 bay leaf
  • Sucul de la 1/2 lamaie / Juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 2 linguri ulei de masline / 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Sare / Salt

Intr-o oala mai adanca punem uleiul si adaugam ceapa, morcovul si telina apio taiate in bucati mari de 2 cm, chimenul si usturoiul.

Calim timp de 5 minute, apoi adaugam lintea rosie spalata in prealabil cu apa rece. Adaugam cimbrul, foaia de dafin, sarea si 900 ml de apa. Lasam supa la fiert timp de 35 minute. Adaugam apoi sucul de lamaie, sare daca mai este cazul si pasam cu ajutorul unui blender.

Lentil Cream Soup

Pour the oil in a deeper pot and add the onions, carrot and celery cut into 2 cm pieces, caraway and garlic.

Saute for 5 minutes, then add the red lentils previously washed with cold water. Add thyme, bay leaf and salt. Let the soup boil for 35 minutes. Then add the lemon juice, salt if necessary and mix with a blender.

Serve hot soup plain or with croutons.
