- 200 ml lapte
- 5 grame drojdie uscata
- 300 grame faina
- 1 lingurita sare
- 2 lingurite bicarbonat
- 4 carnati
- 200 grame varza rosie calita

Ulterior, il impartim in patru parti egale.

Spicy Pretzel with Braised Cabbage
Grab a spicy pretzel with braised cabbage, hit play, and you’ve got the perfect snack for any scenario! Forget everything you know about boring snacks! We present to you the spicy pretzel with cabbage – a golden-baked delight filled with flavorful braised cabbage and a juicy sausage, perfect for movie nights where you hit play on the film and pause on the diet. It’s salty, crunchy, has that perfect kick from chili pepper jam, and pairs dangerously well with a cozy blanket and a good Netflix binge. Warning: it might just become your new guilty pleasure. But don’t stop there – this pretzel is the undercover hero of road trip snacks, speedy school lunches, or that “something good” you pull out of your bag during a work break. And the best part? You can make it at home with simple ingredients and minimal fuss (just a bit of kneading… like life). Let me show you how it’s done – and why you’ll definitely want “just one more”!
INGREDIENTS (for 4 servings)
- 200 ml milk
- 5 grams dry yeast
- 300 grams flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 4 sausages
- 200 grams braised red cabbage
- 4 teaspoons poppy seeds
Heat the milk without bringing it to a boil, then add the yeast. Stir gently and let the mixture rest for 10 minutes. After that, add the flour and salt, kneading until you get a smooth, elastic dough. Shape it into a ball and let it rest for 15 minutes. Then, divide it into four equal parts.
Roll each piece into a rectangle. On each rectangle, place about 50 grams of braised cabbage (you can find the recipe here), along with a sausage that’s been previously pan-fried. Roll them up carefully, sealing the edges well to avoid any leaks while baking. Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring 3 liters of water to a boil in a large pot and add the baking soda. Boil each pretzel individually, for about one minute on each side. Remove gently, let them drain, and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle poppy seeds on top and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes, or until they’re beautifully golden.
Serve warm, with a side of chili pepper jam for a delicious sweet & spicy contrast.
