(pentru 2 portii / for 2 servings)

  • 4 felii de paine integrala / 4 wholemeal toast
  • 100 grame carne de porc la garnita / 100 grams baked pork meat in lard
  • 100 grame branza de burduf / 100 grams cheese
  • 2 mere / 2 apples
  • 2 lingurite zahar / 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 linguri suc de lamaie / 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 25 grame unt / 25 grams butter
  • 2 lingurite miere / 2 teaspoons honey
  • Cimbru / Thyme

Spalam merele si le taiem in felii. Presaram cu zahar, adaugam sucul de lamaie si lasam 15 minute. Intr-o tigaie topim untul si adaugam feliile de mere. Le prajim pe fiecare parte cate 3 – 4 minute, iar la sfarsit adaugam mierea si cimbrul.

Intre timp pregatim sandwich-urile calde. Ungem 2 felii de paine cu putina untura de la carne si adaugam in fiecare sandwich branza de burduf si carnea taiata cubulete. Acoperim cu alte 2 felii de paine si le prajim, fie intr-un sandwich maker, fie intr-o tigaie.

Romanian Club Sandwich

Romanian Club Sandwich is a unique combination between the famous club sandwich and 100% Romanian ingredients. Bellows cheese, baked meat, caramelized apples with honey and subtle thyme aroma will turn a simple hot sandwich into an absolutely delicious snack.

Wash the apples and cut them into slices. Sprinkle with sugar, add lemon juice and leave for 15 minutes. Put the butter in a frying pan and add the apple slices. Fry them on each side for 3-4 minutes, and at the end add honey and thyme.

Meanwhile, prepare the hot sandwiches. Grease 2 slices of bread with lard and add to each sandwich cheese and diced meat. Cover with another 2 slices of bread and fry, either in a sandwich maker or in a pan.

Serve the hot sandwiches with caramelized apples and fig jam.
