Marturisesc ca nu am avut niciodata vreo pornire in a incerca un restaurant japonez. Nu stiu de ce, poate ca in mintea mea asociam acest tip de bucatarie doar cu sushi si preparate situate mai degraba in zona raw. In preajma sarbatorilor de iarna am avut insa ocazia de a incerca restaurantul Benihana si deoarece nu regret nicio secunda decizia luata, am decis sa astern cateva impresii si poze la categoria Unde mancam in … Sinaia.

Restaurantul Benihana din Sinaia, este situat in incinta Hotelului Alexandrion Experience ****, ce a imbracat hainute noi si elegante dupa rebrand-uirea din 2023 din Hotel New Montana.

Din orice parte ai veni (Brasov sau Bucuresti deopotriva), drumul este un calvar in majoritatea zilelor, lucru oricum arhicunoscut si deja megaacceptat cu resemnare de catre toata lumea, insa odata ajunsi aici, osteneala si chinul par ca au avut sens.

Benihana din Sinaia este un restaurant autentic japonez care ofera o experienta culinara deosebita, combinand preparatele traditionale japoneze cu un show de gatit interactiv. In interior, atmosfera este moderna si eleganta, cu o tema specifica japoneza, iar mesele Teppan sunt dotate cu gratare pe care bucatarii, trei la numar, din partea aceea a lumii, pregatesc mancarea in fata clientilor.

I-am vazut pe toti trei in actiune, toti foarte simpatici si priceputi, insa de departe preferatul nostru a fost Nanan.

Meniul include sushi, sashimi, preparate din peste si carne, toate gatite cu tehnici precise si ingrediente de calitate, in stilul traditional japonez teppanyaki. Prepararea fripturii de vita, a puiului, pestelui, fructelor de mare si a legumelor proaspete, au loc intr-o atmosfera plina de energie si profesionalism, asezonate cu elemente vesele si comentarii siropoase din partea Chefilor asiatici.

Fiind la prima experienta de acest gen si prea putin familiarizati cu bucataria si cultura culinara japoneza, am ales partial din instinct, partial ghidati de colega ospatar care ne-a servit cateva aperitive (care s-au dovedit a fi absolut senzationale) si cateva meniuri de baza pe care Nanan le-a mixat in fata noastra intr-un preparat complet, delicios.

La aperitive am ales: Creveti in stil tempura, Creveti tempura serviti cu sos de maioneza picant, Pachetele de primavara servite cu sos dulce de chilli si o combinatie de sushi (2-ton, 2-somon,1-creveti, 1-lup de mare).




La felul principal am ales doua meniuri BENIHANA DELIGHT (Pui hibachi si creveti) si SHOGUN’S FEAST (Vrabioara de vita si creveti). Meniul contine de fapt: Supa de ceapa, Legume hibachi, Salata Benihana si Orez inabusit – pe care l-am solicitat sa fie preparat cu pui si usturoi.

A rezultat in final o farfurie inedita cu orez cu pui si ou, bucatele de pui la gratar, felii delicioase de vita, creveti si legume – o explozie de gusturi, texture si culori, cu care nu am fost familiarizati, care au facut insa ca experienta sa fie un ace se doreste a fi repetata.

Preparatele au mers la fis cu un vin alb Domeniile Alexandrion Dar 1892, Sec, un cupaj alb cu note subtile de vanilie. Fiecare inghititura dezvaluie arome de piersici coapte si ananas proaspat aduse de Chardonnay, imbogatite prin maturarea in butoaie noi de stejar frantuzesc. Viognierul se face remarcat prin nuante de piersici si mango, in timp ce Tamaioasa Romaneasca adauga accente florale delicate
A fost loc si de desert… Am incercat Lava cake cu fistic servit cu inghetata de vanilie – absolut delicios si Banana tempura – preparate interesant si inedit deopotriva.


Serviciul este atent si rapid, iar personalul este bine pregatit sa ofere o experienta placuta. Preturile sunt mai mari, dar pentru calitatea mancarii si experienta unica oferita, merita cu siguranta.

Benihana este o alegere buna pentru o cina deosebita sau o iesire cu prietenii.

Where to Eat in … Sinaia
I confess that I have never had the inclination to try a Japanese restaurant. I’m not sure why, maybe because in my mind I associated this type of cuisine only with sushi and dishes that are more on the raw side. However, around the winter holidays, I had the opportunity to try the Benihana restaurant, and since I didn’t regret my decision for a second, I decided to share some impressions and pictures under the category Where to eat in… Sinaia.
The Benihana restaurant in Sinaia is located inside the Alexandrion Experience **** Hotel, which received a fresh, elegant makeover after its rebranding in 2023 from Hotel New Montana.
No matter where you come from (whether Brașov or Bucharest), the road is a nightmare most days, a fact everyone knows and has reluctantly accepted. However, once you arrive here, the effort and struggle seem worth it.
Benihana in Sinaia is an authentic Japanese restaurant that offers a unique culinary experience, combining traditional Japanese dishes with an interactive cooking show. Inside, the atmosphere is modern and elegant, with a typical Japanese theme. The Teppan tables are equipped with grills on which the chefs, three in total from that part of the world, prepare the food right in front of the customers.
I saw all three of them in action, all very friendly and skilled, but by far our favorite was Nanan.
The menu includes sushi, sashimi, fish, and meat dishes, all cooked with precise techniques and high-quality ingredients in the traditional Japanese teppanyaki style. The preparation of beef steaks, chicken, fish, seafood, and fresh vegetables takes place in an energetic and professional atmosphere, sprinkled with fun and syrupy comments from the Asian chefs.
Being at our first experience of this kind and not very familiar with Japanese cuisine and culinary culture, we chose partially by instinct and partially guided by our waitress, who served us some appetizers (which turned out to be absolutely sensational) and a few main menu items that Nanan mixed in front of us into a delicious, complete dish.
For appetizers, we chose: Tempura shrimp, Tempura shrimp served with spicy mayonnaise, Spring rolls served with sweet chili sauce, and a sushi combination (2-tuna, 2-salmon, 1-shrimp, 1-sea bass).
For the main course, we chose two BENIHANA DELIGHT menus (Hibachi chicken and shrimp) and SHOGUN’S FEAST (Beef tenderloin and shrimp). The menu actually includes: Onion soup, Hibachi vegetables, Benihana salad, and Steamed rice – which we requested to be prepared with chicken and garlic.
The final result was a unique plate with rice, chicken, and egg, grilled chicken pieces, delicious beef slices, shrimp, and vegetables – an explosion of flavors, textures, and colors, with which we were unfamiliar, but which made the experience something we would love to repeat.
The dishes went perfectly with a white wine, Domeniile Alexandrion Dar 1892, Dry, a white blend with subtle notes of vanilla. Each sip revealed flavors of baked peaches and fresh pineapple brought by the Chardonnay, enhanced by maturation in new French oak barrels. The Viognier stood out with hints of peaches and mango, while the Tămâioasă Românească added delicate floral accents.
There was room for dessert… We tried Lava cake with pistachio served with vanilla ice cream – absolutely delicious, and Tempura Banana – both interesting and unique dishes.
The service is attentive and quick, and the staff is well-trained to provide a pleasant experience. The prices are higher, but for the quality of the food and the unique experience, it is definitely worth it.
Benihana is a great choice for a special dinner or a night out with friends.
