INGREDIENTE (pentru 2 portii)
Pentru pesto waffle:
- 300 grame aluat foietaj proaspat
- 2 linguri sos pesto
- 50 grame mozzarella rasa
Pentru topping:
- 125 grame burrata
- 3 felii mortadella
- pesto extra pentru servire

Incepem prin a incalzi bine aparatul de waffle — temperatura uniforma este esentiala pentru un foietaj auriu si crocant. Cat timp aparatul se incalzeste, intindem aluatul de foietaj si il taiem in doua foi egale, potrivite cu suprafata aparatului.

Asezam prima foaie de foietaj pe aparatul incins, acoperind bine ambele forme. Ungem generos cu pesto aromat — un strat subtire dar bine distribuit pe toata suprafata. Presaram mozzarella rasa deasupra si acoperim cu a doua foaie de foietaj. Inchidem aparatul si lasam sa se gateasca pana cand waffle-ul devine auriu, crocant si frumos rumenit — verificam din cand in cand sa nu se arda, deoarece fiecare aparat are propria intensitate a caldurii.

Scoatem waffle-ul pe o farfurie de servit si il mai ungem cu putin pesto proaspat — caldura waffle-ului va intensifica aroma. Rupem burrata deasupra in bucati generoase, lasand crema alba si catifelata sa curga usor peste foietajul crocant. Asezam feliile de mortadella cu grija, pentru un aspect elegant si apetisant. For the pesto waffle:
- 300 grams fresh puff pastry
- 2 tablespoons pesto sauce
- 50 grams grated mozzarella
For the topping:
- 125 grams burrata
- 3 slices mortadella
- extra pesto for serving
We start by heating the waffle maker well — an even temperature is essential for golden, crispy puff pastry. While the appliance is heating up, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into two equal sheets, sized to fit the surface of the waffle maker.
Place the first sheet of puff pastry on the heated waffle maker, covering both moulds well. Spread generously with aromatic pesto — a thin but evenly distributed layer across the entire surface. Scatter the grated mozzarella on top and cover with the second sheet of puff pastry. Close the waffle maker and leave to cook until the waffle becomes golden, crispy and beautifully browned — check occasionally to make sure it doesn’t burn, as every appliance has its own heat intensity.
Remove the waffle onto a serving plate and spread with a little more fresh pesto — the warmth of the waffle will intensify the aroma. Tear the burrata on top in generous pieces, letting the white, velvety cream flow gently over the crispy pastry. Arrange the mortadella slices carefully for an elegant and appetising look.
