Lipie, paine naan, pita …. fiecare cu particularitatile ei, dar similare in esenta. Pe baza de faina si apa, cu drojdie sau fara, acestea se asociaza foarte bine multor feluri de mancare. Le gasim in bucataria turceasca, greceasca, libaneza, indiana, mexicana. Am incercat cu succes mai multe variante, insa daca sunteti in lipsa de timp va recomand sa o incercati pe aceasta.

INGREDIENTE / INGREDIENTS

(pentru 4 portii / for 4 servings)

  • 250 grame faina / 250 grams white flour
  • 125 grame iaurt / 125 grams yogurt
  • 1 lingurita sare / 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 grame praf de copt / 5 grams baking powder
  • 70 ml apa rece / 70 ml cold water
  • 2 linguri ulei de masline / 2 tablespoons olive oil

Intr-un bol amestecam toate ingredientele si le mixam cu ajutorul unui robot de bucatarie sau cu mana. Acoperim bolul cu o folie de plastic si lasam sa se odihneasca. Impartim apoi aluatul in bucati de aproximativ 50 de grame si le intindem cu ajutorul unui sucitor. Incingem o tigaie si coacem lipiile pe ambele parti.

Servim lipiile umplute cu carne sau legume, alaturi de hummus, tzatiki sau intr-un platou mexican cu guacamole.

Pita bread

Pita, naan bread … each one with its own particularities, but similar in essence. Based on flour and water, with or without yeast, they are well associated with many dishes. We can find it in Turkish, Greek, Lebanese, Indian and Mexican cuisine. I have successfully tried several options, but if you are short of time I recommend you to try this one.

In a bowl, mix all the ingredients and mix them with a food processor or by hand. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest. Then divide the dough into pieces of about 50 grams and spread them with a rolling pin. Heat a pan and bake the sticks on both sides.

Serve the bread stuffed with meat or vegetables, with hummus, tzatiki or in a Mexican plate with guacamole.
